Szu-Mei's farewell

On Thursday, the 1st of February, my bunch of school friends had a farewell party for Szu-Mei who will be going to Australia to study.

We had just thrown a surprise farewell party for Kiren who was going to Russia late last year, and one for Alicia who was going to US in early January very successfully as we had totally managed to give them a great surprise!

Fiona and Szu-Mei were the key planners for Kiren and Alicia's surprise party. This time, it being Szu-Mei's surprise party, I teamed up with Fiona to plan Szu-Mei's surprise party.

It was difficult coming up with a real surprise idea. Ideas were used up and Szu-Mei already expected a surprise party from us, so there goes the surprise. Any invitation to anyone's house would be a dead giveaway.

Fiona and I didnt want any crappy second rate surprise party. If we were to make it a surprise, it's got to REALLY BE a surprise! As idea after idea couldnt work, we thought we may as well just scrap the whole idea of making it a surprise.

That was until I came up with a brilliant idea! (Clap for myself. I'm just so proud of it =P). We were gonna make a surprise parade!!!

We conned Szu-Mei to believing we were going to KLCC to spend time with Kiren since Kiren had little time here in Malaysia during her holidays. Fiona was to pick her, Abigail and Piriya up from her house and was running late. So we got Abigail and Piriya to position Szu-Mei outside her house where she can clearly see the "parade" coming in.

And so, 3 cars all decorated with "Surprise", "Farewell", and "Szu-Mei" came into her view, lights flashing and hons honking, and we ppl in the car sticking out heads and hand out waving balloons at her.

Haha!!! What a great surprise it was. It was great fun for us too! The journey to Szu-Mei's house after decorating the cars from Abigail's house was really interesting cos people in other cars were staring at us. We were kinda slowing down traffic too cos we had to drive slowly so the decorations wont tear or fly off.

Szu-Mei's reaction was funny too. Fiona and I were so totally glad that the surprise was a success cos she totally didnt expect one that day, at that time, in that way.

And here's a group picture after we shifted the words to one car.

Anyway, from there, we proceeded to Fiona's house to PARTY!!! For more pics, go to Fiona's blog. She did a great job blogging bout it with plenty of pictures.
